The room was big and had robes, which was nice. The bed was clean and comfortable. Hooks in the bathroom would be nice. The breakfast was very small- just bread, 2 cereals, yogurt and coffee.

Our stay was quite nice! This is a unique boutique hotel on the edge of the Nob Hill neighborhood. It's within walking distance of fun spots like Ace's Bar, and the complimentary breakfast was simple but a nice bonus. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite, which was a fun experience. The corner windows offered great city views. Just don't look too closely at some of the neighboring rooftops—they're a reminder you're still in the city. 😊 One thing future guests should know is that the hotel sits close to the Tenderloin. We never felt unsafe, but if you're walking around, it's worth being aware of your surroundings and avoiding wandering too far east, especially after dark. My only real complaint was the bathroom light. It's on a motion sensor, so whenever someone walked past our room in the hallway, the light would switch on, which was a little annoying while trying to sleep. There is also a balcony, but it felt a bit dated, so we didn't end up using it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a charming, 1906 historic hotel in Nob Hill.

Our stay was just ok. Hotel was advised that we were stuck at airport and our flight was cancelled and rescheduled but hotel would not accommodate that one day we missed even with it not being our fault. We were never told anything upon checking in and nothing in the room to explain how to get ice, how to use tv or phone etc. hot tube was missing knobs to use, our tv did not work, kept saying no signal and remote was not working half the time.Stains on the walls that we cleaned with ourself because it grossed us out like old food stains. Sheets smell so bad of bleach it gave me a headache. For the price, we were not expecting this of a penthouse room. No microwave at all, and they did not tell us where community microwave was. No vending machines or anything at all. This is just a place to stay to change clothes or get a nap and that’s all. We did enjoy having a patio area and the view from the room was ok with privacy. It was quiet and we only had 1 neighbor so the walls were thick and quiet for us. Air condition worked properly and water was hot for baths.

Unfortunately, my experience did not match what I expected from the hotel, especially after booking what they call the penthouse suite. My biggest issue was the parking and valet situation. Valet costs $67 per night, but there is no dedicated attendant waiting outside. There are only about two or three spaces available for arriving vehicles, and everyone has to go inside and speak with the single person working at the front desk. That person may already be helping guests check in, so the entrance quickly becomes crowded. Each time I needed my car, the hotel had to call the valet, and it took approximately 15 minutes for the vehicle to arrive. The wait itself was not my biggest concern, but for $67 per night, I expected a smoother and more convenient process. The valet also stops operating after 10 p.m., meaning you are on your own if you return later. Guests should plan their days carefully because quickly leaving for lunch, running an errand, returning, and then heading back out is much less convenient than it would be at a typical full service hotel. My second major concern was the condition of the penthouse suite. I paid approximately $250 per night, so I understand that this was not an extremely expensive luxury suite. However, the photos felt somewhat misleading compared to the room I received. There were dirty footprints inside the jacuzzi, which made me uncomfortable using it. The shower also had extremely low water pressure. The water was hot, but it barely flowed

Main complaint is that we didn’t take a single warm shower. Never could get the water to get warm!

The place was nice and clean. I originally choose because description stated about city views from rooftop, however no city views and 2 actual guest rooms up their. Other than place was great for short trip!

This is an older property, and I'd probably look for a larger room away from the street, but I picked the lowest-priced room: that's my responsibility. Aside from that, the service was excellent: the front desk was very helpful, the breakfast was well above expectations for someone who likes to eat lightly in the morning, and the Penaber Mediterranean Meze House was wonderful and a value. The room was worn but very clean. The bedding and bathroom were both clean and comfortable. I'm not someone who likes to stay in the room when I travel, so this was well-suited to my needs. The valet parking was perfect for my needs as well.

Overall a really cute room and well kept. The staff were really accommodating and helpful so it was easy to get what we needed.

The rooms were very noisy, you could hear people walking around all night. The bathroom had a very strong sewer/drain smell which permeated into the room, which required us to keep the door closed. The location was good since you're 20 minutes away from many points of interest. It was a good experience for the price.

Clean hotel room but small. It’s enough for a short, solo trip. The espresso machine in the lobby wasn’t working one of the days I tried to grab coffee. Staff was friendly.
