It was ok. Location was good for transportation on buses or taxis. The room we got was definitely not a “luxury” hotel room or spacious like advertised and did not look like photos. There was no lift, so they should tell people they have to do stairs. The towel warmer didn’t work and there was no plug in for the hairdryer in the bathroom or anywhere near a mirror. It had a bed and breakfast without the breakfast kind of feel, rather than a “boutique hotel,” so seems a little higher priced than it should be.

Very spacious, comfortable and clean. Isobel help our bags as we waited for our room. We also were treated to a pint that evening. This was our 5 th trip to Edinburgh. Morningside is a great place to stay with nice coffee shops and cafes. We would highly recommend the Lane Hotel.

Very friendly staff, quick check in and lovely room. Highly recommended.

What a night out. Beers in the pub, then dinner with wine, then upstairs to bed. Everything in one place and all of it really enjoyable from the first complimentary drink to the final dessert. Don’t forget to try the world famous Bloody Mary, it’s one of your five a day 😂

Lovely homely hotel in a beautiful period property, very comfortable! Close to plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants, and not forgetting The Canny Man's next door, which is a cracky pub with lots of character. There are loads of buses in and out of the centre, or to Leith if you wish to explore there too, so this is a great neighbourhood to stay in the city. We highly recommend this place, and we're hoping to return again in the not-so-distant future.

The staff was remarkable. Every effort was made for us to have a perfect stay. The food and bar were great. 3/4 of us do not drink alcohol and the bartender had certification in non alcohol drinks! It was so fun for us to be able have fun drinks along with our friends!

Room was spotless, lovely amenities.

Amazing hotel, fab and quirky pain and beautiful accommodation. Great location.

Excellent accomodations excellent beer , excellent whisky and a very nice breakfast
