The staff was first class and the property is beautiful. Pools and hot tub could use to have debris taken out more. Sheets were stained. The property was doing construction that started at 7:50 am every day. No warning ahead of time. Would have absolutely stayed elsewhere instead of being woken up by that and it continued on until 5:00 pm. We can for peace in the rainforest. We were greeted with excavation. So very disappointing to say the least.

Great hotel! Stayed with kids. Water slide was a big hit. Easy to get around town and close to lots of restaurants and attractions! Staff is top notch!

Wow! The property is very well maintained. You get a separate unit with a deck. The view was great the breakfast was excellent the place felt very safe. We had a car with us which made the moving about easy. It is a bit of a distance from

Simply spectacular. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough for so many reasons: its location, the excellent value for money, the outstanding quality of the food, and the river, which brings a unique sense of life and energy to the property. We were fortunate enough to enjoy a swim in the river thanks to the perfect weather, and that experience became the highlight of our wonderfully relaxing stay. The photos simply do not do this place justice.

We didn’t realize we were booking a stay in the actual rainforest. Our living room is outdoors effectively along with the bathroom, while the bedrooms were contained. A bit of a surprise to us (maybe we didn’t do our research) but we absolutely loved it. The food was great, but the service was absolutely over the top amazing.

Everything was good. Stayed only one night. A little bit overpriced. Room, bathroom was spacious. More details to cleaning esp bathroom faucets. Keep in mind these rooms are part of the forrest so you may find insects or other species in or outside. Staff frontdesk, restaurant all were very friendly and helpfull.

Beautiful hotel, room with kitchen and hot tub was nice. Staff communicated immediately through WhatsApp whenever needed. Best hotel breakfast service we have ever had. Hotel was about a 20 min walk into town or just a few mins to the swinging rope on the Rio Fortuna. Only room for improvement would be some more hooks in the room to hang rain jackets etc… You could stay here and never have to leave the property the entire time.

This was my second time staying at Casa del Rio, as I was just there in December. I can't express how amazing this property is. Both times the service, amenities, staff, food and adventures have been incredible. I had a free plane ticket and my parents that have never traveled outside the USA heard about my trip in December and wanted to go. So for their 40th year anniversary, I took them to Costa Rica and guided them in La Fortuna. We stayed in room Trucha that had a beautiful view of the river. Wildlife all around. Maria and Augustìn and the rest of the front desk staff (including the events manager who showed us awesome special events on the property) are very professional, kind and helpful. Days I went off exploring alone, my parents did easier tours through the resort that all went smooth. We ate at the hotel restaurant Cuenca for every breakfast and most night's for dinner. Food is delicious and always comes out hot. Diego, Roughlin and the rest of the kitchen team are very friendly and provide top service. Coffee is really good and so is the mixed fruits for breakfast. The property pools are really nice to relax in after a day exploring. I absolutely love this place and so did my parents. I highly recommend anyone staying in La Fortuna to stay at this resort. It is safe, clean and has a ton of amenities for your down time. You also won't get that chaotic busy feeling like some of the other resorts or hot springs. Great place 10/10 for couples, families or friend groups

We were so impressed by the property. The room was very private with a hot tub and large back deck. The restaurant on the premises served 3 meals per day and had great food that offered local cuisine as well as something for everyone. We would definitely come back or visit their sister property on the Oso Peninsula. Loved it!
