good for family

Excellent resort have been coming here for years. Staff is amazing and very professional. They made the stay extra special.

I want to start off by saying that we really enjoyed staying at the Maya Palace. We have been going for the past 3 tears staying at their different hotels and by far the Maya Palace is our favorite. However, we were very disappointed with not being able to get a fresh coconut! If you have them in the resort, why not offer them to the guests even if it is a surcharge? Being surrounded by palms and coconuts and not being able to enjoy a fresh coconut by the beach is truly annoying. Also, the breakfast buffet could use some more variety. I do recommend staying here- it is worth it.

Beautiful place to stay! Really loved the pool and was family friendly. The only thing was I wished they had a specific map of where everything was.

I loved the amenities. Con’s restaurant too far away, hotel needs golf cart for transportation more shuttles maybe even scooters. That will help a lot .

Barcelo Maya Palace was an absolute paradise! My family stayed for five nights and really did not want to leave by the end. The resort is huge and you are never wanting for things to do. My two teenagers were completely happy to just hang out in the gorgeous pool closest to our room, though there were myriad other free activities we could have done. The facilities including our room, pools, walkways, dining halls, restaurants, and beach were immaculate. The staff was really the greatest part of our stay, every single person we interacted with was kind, courteous, helpful, and so very accommodating. Everything about this resort is set up for your maximum enjoyment and relaxation. The food served here was another highlight, not only was it delicious, and mostly made from whole, fresh food, but there was a huge variety (even for someone like me who is a vegetarian and a very picky eater)! If you want to travel off the resort they have plenty of adventures you can plan. My family and I had the adventure of a life time hiking the Mayan ruins at Coba and swimming in the Gran Cenote. All in all, this resort is worth every penny you spend. 10/10 highly recommended!!

Best of the Best

It was our first time staying at Barcelo Palace. We stayed in the Oaxaca Building and our room was somewhat close to the pools. The room itself felt spacious and had lots of storage pace for a family of three. The property itself is large and combines several of their other hotels. The hotel offers shuttle service to the other parts of the hotel but we walked and felt it wasn’t more than a 20 minute walk to get to their furthest property. This is an all inclusive resort but we were not premium so we didn’t have free room service. My daughter was bummed about it but it was ok as we didn’t spend much time in the room. We liked the food at the buffet as well as their Brazilian and Seafood restaurants. Staying in the Palace allows you to eat at restaurants at the other properties. We also ate at their Italian and Spanish restaurant. Overall, we really liked the food! The servers were attentive and friendly. The only issue is having to make reservations for some of the restaurants. We really wanted to try their hibachi restaurant but we realized too late that we needed to make reservations at the beginning of our trip vs towards the end. The sargassum is prominent but we also travelled during the month of May. We didn’t swim in the beach because of the sargassum. The hotel was probably at 60% capacity and it could be a result of the sargassum. On the bright side, we had no issues finding lounge chairs by the pool. The pool is great! We also enjoyed the entertainment.

There was some seaweed (visited mid May) which was disappointing. But I was still able to snorkel and see fish and sting rays. Overall we had a great time. Food and service were excellent.
