We loved our stay at Johnston Canyon! You cannot beat the location. It was so nice being right at the trailhead, and not having to worry about parking. It was nice having the restaurant and gift shop right there. We didn't utilize the DVD's or board games, but it was nice to know it was an option.

Room was large and felt grand but building itself felt old with some work needed for things like the windows and doors. The windows didn't stay open without using little pieces of wood that they provided, so wide open or just a crack weren't really options. The door lock was a bit sticky so if you did it gently the bolt didn't retract fully. The mosquitoes outside were terrible (unusual) and we kept finding more in our room throughout the night which we think were coming down the chimney, but it could have been from somewhere else. The room is heated by a gas fireplace, which has nice ambience, but is bright and it's flickering may wake light sleepers. Outside noise was fine, the area is pretty quiet, but the noise from next door really carried through the wall. Overall really cute place with nice ambience and a unique/potentially convenient, but felt like it could have been a bit better for how much it cost.

We loved this 'cabin in the woods'! This is a fantastic unique place - the rustic cabins are all within very close proximity to one another, so you don't need to worry about being too remote. It is very safe and family friendly. We also appreciated being able to roll out our door and onto the Johnson Canyon trail at 8am to beat all the tourist crowds. This is a huge perk. There is a fabulous restaurant on site serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. A pickleball court is on the grounds and they were in the process of building a sauna when we were there. The log cabins are very rustic, but extremely charming....like stepping back in time. Highly recommend having at least one night here.

Loved the setting and beautifully maintained and restored historic cabins. Sat on the porch until sundown and listened to the roar of the river below. Enjoyed morning on same porch with yummy coffee from the on property bistro. My pup could relax from road travel while keeping an eye on the resident squirrels. Will definitely go back!

The cabins were very well maintained and very comfortable. Wonderful views, easy access to the trails and close to Lake Louise and Banff. We would love to come back and stay here again!

These old iconic cabins have been brought up to date with old looking appliances and a well hidden microwave! The bathroom was spectacular with a separate water closet. Fabulous restaurant on the property. After a long day of hiking, an excellent meal and waking up to the sound of the rushing river was fabulous. Worth it, definitely worth it.

The location is superb staff very good, small cabins need a small wardrobe or a set draws there was nowhere put clothes away. But we had a great stay.

The stay was amazing! We had a few little hiccups but they were fixed immediately. Everyone was so nice! My only complaint was that the wifi in the cabins was just bad. Not that our vacation was centered around tv, but we wanted to watch the Stanley Cup Finals one night and our ROKU wouldn't hook up at all.
