This place is old, dated and small. Clean but smelled a little because of its age and use. We had prepaid for the one night stay but they insisted on charging our card a $150 deposit! I asked why. Just to make sure we didn’t trash our room. We are an elderly couple. We are not about to trash their room. They said don’t worry, “most people get back their deposit.” Haven’t checked my card yet but they better have returned the deposit. That’s what you get when you stay at small, local and unprofessional places.

Always a nice stay. The rooms are each a little different. Overall it’s a breath of fresh air if you’re sick of the same ole hotel motel holiday inn.

My daughter goes to CSUMB and this is the 2nd time staying here.. we’ve been in Monterey a lot and this is the only hotel (out of a lot) that I LOVE. This will be our hotel when i visit my daughter, and move her in every year.

Room was clean and comfortable, friendly staff and nice Keurig coffee maker. The location was walking distance to the ocean and many of the restaurants. We had a ground floor room but you could hear the people walking at all hours of the night in the room above. That was really the only negative. I would definitely stay there again.

Place was as described and shown in photos. Check in was fast and easy. Staff friendly. We didnt spend too much time in the room, but it was quiet and comfortable. Would stay again.

I called ahead about arriving early and was told between 1-1:30 would work. We arrived at 1 and the lobby was empty. No one showed for about 30 minutes. Room was not ready so we waited another 45 minutes before it was ready. Other than that the room was large, clean, and updated. Their cancellation policy is non existent so make sure before you book
