Four Points by Sheraton Myrtle Beach

It was a hotel. Not bad. Not great. Needs a good deep cleaning like most of MB and few quality updates (instead of shoddy quick repairs) would help. Balconies are useless so don’t pay extra for them. Location is ehh.

When we initially checked in we were assigned a room on the first floor which smelled strongly of mold & mildew and had two queens eventhough I paid for a king. "D" at the front desk told us she never uses the rooms in that particular corridor unless the hotel is completely sold out because they are just too close to the water. I know a lot of hotels give people that book through Expedia less desirable rooms, and this is one of those hotels. D was gracious and friendly, she promptly gave us a better room on the 6th floor across from the sleep study rooms. It was very quiet. Unfortunately they were sold out of kings so we had to remain in a double queen despite the fact I had prepaid for a king. None of the other front desk staff were very friendly aside from D and one other tall gentleman. The rooms and property definitely need some TLC. The sofas in the main entry areas are falling apart. The 6th floor room also smelled like mildew. We guessed it was most likely from a dirty AC filter since the smell improved slightly with the cooling turned off. The fridge was leaking water. There is no shelf in the shower to put toiletries and soap. The ceiling tiles in the pool area are falling down or missing. Overall this property is neglected being a Sheraton. It's more like a motel than a hotel. We wouldn't stay here again. One plus, they have a water bottle refill station which we used frequently and were able to avoid purchasing bottled water. Parking is also free.

Lobby was hot and smelled like mold. Room smelled like mold as well. Had to switch rooms because of a noise problem with young sport team whose rooms were on both sides and across the hall from mine . Slamming doors and knocking on the doors at all hours of the night. Couldn’t get any sleep. No clue why they booked rooms like that . Found bed bug in the room and had bites on my leg and back of my neck. Told housekeeping not sure what they did about it.

The location was great for us

Me and my husband had a very nice, relaxing Father’s Day weekend. We booked the Lakeview room beautiful scenery. This hotel is a 10. Great location. Breakfast was awesome. Everyone was nice and helpful. We will be back in a couple of months.

Close the everything and even had a nice boat dock club

Had everything we were wanting in a hotel. Clean room friendly staff. Excellent fitness facilities. Great view of the river and close to the beach

Very clean rooms and amenities. The A/C in the room worked very well. However, in the bar area, it was warm and though they had high power fans throughout the lobby to try and cool it down, the fans took away from the ambiance. Also, the pumped in smell was overly done throughout the lobby and hallways. I ordered the garden burger which was cooked too well done that it was charred. The crinkle fries served with the sandwiches were cooked to perfection. No food or bar on Sundays and the bar/restaurant opens at 5:00 PM. A breakfast buffet is your only available option and there is a $14.95 charge. Overall, a relaxing and clean stay.

Good hotel for the price, good breakfast and excellent view over the river behind the property
