We booked a group tour to the Giza Plateau and the Grand Egyptian Museum with Ehab as our guide. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. We tried multiple times to purchase the pyramid tickets online beforehand, but the official website kept going down. Because of this, we had to queue and buy the tickets onsite, which caused a delay. What made the situation uncomfortable was that the guide repeatedly blamed us for the delay, even though the website issue was beyond our control. Seeing the pyramids had been something I looked forward to, but the atmosphere during the tour made the experience less enjoyable. The information shared during the tour felt quite basic and not particularly engaging. The GEM visit was also very rushed — we only had time to see Tutankhamun’s collection and couldn’t explore other exhibits. Based on this experience, I would recommend opting for a private tour with a knowledgeable Egyptologist instead of a group tour.
