Great day trip to xi’an from Beijing if you are short on time. high speed train was new, clean and comfortable. crowded on the way out of Beijing at 7am but empty on the late night 7pm train back from xi-an. Driver met us at the hotel lobby on time at 5am and brought us to the train station, all the way to the platform for boarding the train. after 4.5h we arrived in xi-an, take note when to disembark as it’s not the last stop for the train. tour guide Catherine and driver were waiting for us at Xian arrival hall. After a smooth 45min drive to the terracotta museum, we decided to tour the museum first as our guide also felt that 12ish timing would be less crowded (although it was alr too crowded for our liking). wonderful sharing of knowledge by Catherine our tour guide. she speaks fluent English, and showed us all the important sights at the terracotta museum. there’s a photo stop for tourists (10 yuan per pax if you take a pic with your phone). after the tour we went for lunch at the eateries outside the terracotta museum. lots of eateries with a variety of choices - do try the Biang Biang noodles, a Xian highlight. we managed to visit the Muslim street and drum tower as well, as we did a quick 2h tour at the terracotta museum. Do try to take the first and last trains of the day like us if you would like to see a bit more of Xi’an, and inform the tour agent buying the train tickets beforehand. All in, we had a great but very tiring day trip and only arrived back at our hotel past midnight. all the transfers and tour guide were great. BUT we had to pay more for the compulsory earphones (20 yuan each) at the terracotta museum and for the optional buggy (5 yuan each) to the terracotta museum - thought these would be included in the tour, considering the expensive price tag of this tour but they weren’t.
lovely while day trip. everyone so kind and the arrangements were excellent. the drivers and the pick up points exactly as promised. wonderful day highly recommended
Well planned arrangement and super friendly guide and drivers, fun and tiring journey.
If you are pressed for time and want to see Terracota warriors from and back to Beijing in a day, this is the BEST way to do it! Seamless, worry-free and convenient way to travel to Xian. The 2 drivers were excellent and courteous and our tour guide, Lucky, was the best. She was very patient explaining the history of the terracota warriors. She picked us up at the Xianbei station and brought us back there too for our return trip. As soon as you purchase the tickets, in less than 30 minutes, someone will email/get in touch with you to finalize the plan. While it may seem expensive at first, the convenience it brings is worth it!
Ang aming tour ay napakahusay na naorganisa at maganda ang komunikasyon. Ang aming Guide na si Tina ay napakatalino tungkol sa The Terracotta Warriors. Napakagaling niya at napakapropesyonal. Ang driver na si Mr. Zhao ay napakabait at propesyonal. Dinala rin kami ni Tina para magtanghalian, kumain kami ng biang biang noodles.
Very expensive! booked it last minute, recommend for someone who doesn’t know how to navigate or have been to china before and want to book this tour, as it is handy to have everything done for you. You can infividually go to Xi’an from Beijing by speed train yourself if you do your research. we wrapped up the tour at 3pm and had to wait around until 6:30pm as that was our pre booked ticket time. Tour guide Henry was great and very knowledgeable. Upon arriving to Xi’an our driver was no where to be seen. We followed the direction to meet him as per the confirmation however, there seemed to be a mix up. At the end of the trip whilst getting picked up to take the bullet train back to Beijing they apologised for the pickup mix up of gettting picked up from Xi’an station by giving us a local favourite a full box of Pomegranate, it was very nice, however, we had to leave it with the driver as we are tourist and were flying out the next day.
Very much enjoyed our day trip from Beijing to see the Terracotta Army. The bullet train was comfortable (bring snacks for the journey). Lucy & the driver met us at Xi’an bei station & the transfer in an ac car was v welcome.Lucy looked after us all day & made sure we got the most out off our visit. This was an unforgettable day!
Sophia has been a most wonderful guide for us, replete with extensive and deep historical knowledge of the Qin dynasty and the development of the Terracota Army. She has taken us on an insightful tour of the eighth wonder of the world and something that we will always remember by.
The driver was on time, and extremely helpful. however the guide seem to be in a bit of a rush. Prepare food for the train ride. only manage to by limited snakes onboard. But do note they have restrictions on liquids.
