We stayed at Botanic Sanctuary, for our five year wedding anniversary. I wanted to experience this hotel for a long time now and finally that weekend was here.
However, there were a couple of things that shocked us. First of all, at check-out they charged us €130 for valet parking. Which is strange, because we came with public transport. Secondly at restaurant Fine Fleur, they charged an extra wine arrangement and a non-alcoholic drink (total almost €80), we didn’t consume. The waiter told us that he made a mistake, but no apologies or anything from his side.
To top it off they also tried to charge us for an extra cocktail at Henry’s bar (total €20). At this point it, it feels like they are intentionally trying to rip us off, by charging things we did not have/consume.
In the room there was only one bathrobe and one pair of slippers, even though it was booked for two persons. At breakfast the first day, we did not get the attention we deserve. The old man serving us, did not look like he was happy to be there. Plates are not taken away and we actively had to ask for a second round of tea and coffee.
This experience was not what we expected from a 5-star hotel in this price range. No apologies from anyone or anything for the inconvenience. We are really disappointed.
