I booked this hotel for 6/27-6/29. The hotel lobby had a fowl smell. When I got to my room it had a musty smell. The tub and toilet was visibly dirty. The sliding glass door does not open so you can’t enjoy the small balcony or use that to air out the room. I found another hotel and checked out the same day. The staff did not check me out until the end of my scheduled stay on 6/29. When asked if I could be reimbursed for at least one day I was told they couldn’t Don’t waist your time or money booking.

Excellent view of Charleston and the Ashley River. Room had updated furniture but hotel needs a complete renovation. Also, while a balcony was not advertised, the pictures showed balconies. We paid for a scenic view and were looking forward to being out on the balcony. However, the sliding doors were bolted shut so we were not able to get out onto it. I do want to point out that the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly.

Nice, older facility. Every room has a great view. Reminds me of the old Tower Records building. Pretty cool.

The room was poorly cleaned. In fact, I would not walk barefoot on those floors. I requested to have the room cleaned and they supposedly did. I went back to the room and it was still the same. There was a long piece of hair on the bathroom door from the moment I checked in to the moment I left the hotel. The room was supposedly cleaned three times during my stay, yet the long very visible hair was never removed. Overall dirty, the elevator floors were also very dirty.

We were in the 9th floor... we heard vehicles/motorcycles driving on the road below us, all night... heard other guests making any noise in their rooms

The staff at this Holiday Inn is exceptional. We have stayed here many times and the service is fabulous at the front desk and the restaurant. The view is amazing. Definitely recommend the harbor view. The shuttle into town is so convenient. Drops you right at the market and from there you can walk everywhere.

We loved the view at breakfast! The staff was kind. Great amenity to have a free shuttle to downtown. It's an older property but pretty well maintained. Wish there had been a SmartTV.

Staff very friendly and Hotel was clean but older. Maybe a 5-6 rating but definitely not an 8 rating. Hotel is Wedged in the middle of a 8 lane highway and very dangerous pulling out and into hotel property. I was almost hit several times as the only exits from the hotel were on to this highway, pulling out from a complete stop entering in the fast lane on a bend so you could not see oncoming traffic, that was moving 60 plus MPH. Other than the parking lot you could walk to anything or access to river to walk. Each room had a small standing deck but you could not access because sliding doors were permanently sealed shut.
