Room had expired coffee creamers, lightbulb burned out, dead fish in lobby water, but grounds were really nice. Access to only one pool.

Absolutely. This keeps the key point—that they initiated the birthday discussion and set the expectation—without sounding entitled. Overall, we had a nice stay at the JW Marriott and enjoyed the property. We used points for this trip as a birthday treat for myself and my family, and we still made the most of our getaway. My only disappointment was the pre-arrival communication. A staff member reached out before check-in asking about our stay and preferences. I mentioned it was my birthday, and they responded with some thoughtful suggestions, including a birthday cake and helping with dinner reservations. I replied with my preferences and was genuinely looking forward to those little touches. Unfortunately, there was no cake when we arrived, and I don’t believe the dinner reservation we discussed was made either, so we made our own plans. I certainly don’t expect special treatment for my birthday, but since the hotel reached out and offered these things, it was disappointing to have those expectations set and then not followed through on. The hotel itself was still very nice, and we enjoyed our family getaway. I just wish the pre-arrival communication had matched the experience once we arrived.

The room is flooded. There is water all over the floor.

Excellent service and amazing food!

This is a beautiful property / The managers Hugo and Doreen were very professional and helpful. The room that i reserved here was not available upon my arrival - The hotel team was very helpful to find a way to help accommodate us - this more than anything matters… Some of the front desk staff would sound tired and overworked, this could improve as I was observing conversations with some customers as I was waiting late at night over there.

Go in the winter. Only issue we had was that it was HOT. Other than that, it was great. AC works beautifully inside! Room was clean every day, staff were super friendly and helpful. The restaurants had great food.
