Good environment

Very good overall. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and there was a nice laundry room. We did not need housekeeping for the first night and put up a "do not disturb" sign, and the hotel even rewarded us with a coupon which we used at the izakaya next to the hotel. Parking lot gets full late at night, so it is recommended to start your day early so you return early to secure a parking space. You need to either use the escalator or walk up the stairs in order to reach the lobby from the entrance, and there is only one escalator that usually goes up, but the staff was more than happy to change the direction for us when checking out so we could bring our luggage down to the ground floor. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

I've stayed at 5 different hotels during my business trips to Japan and the Monteroza is by far the best. The cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms, the 5 different breakfast to choose from, the comfort of the rooms and the outstanding staff who bend over backwards to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible. I would give this hotel 5 stars.

We were pleasantly surprised by the high quality of this boutique hotel. Looks like they recently updated the rooms, with brand new appliances, air conditioning, and even a foot massage unit in the room (which was quite handy after our very long day of walking around). The parking lot is small, but we came at a less busy time, so at least we didn't have to drag our luggage for too far of a distance. The only thing less than ideal was their breakfast, which was quite plain and basic. Still, we were happy with our stay and would recommend others to try this establishment.

Stayed at this hotel during 2 business trips to Japan. Clean rooms, friendly staff who go above and beyond to accommodate you, a laundry room and a very good selection of breakfast options.
