Criminally under-maintained! Loads of potential but the property is very tired and in desperate need of modernisation.
Pretty much everything is on its last legs, including the furniture, decor, lighting, bathrooms, showers…. Genuinely everything needs upgrading. Marked walls, broken windows sills, loose sockets, malfunctioning fridges, curtains a about to drop from rails, soap dispensers siliconed on the wall, shower heads not adjusting/spraying correctly, ripped carpets, sagging room chairs, broken curtain pegs, broken ironing board, bent cupboard doors,
It was a 5 star once upon a time but looks like it was last decorated 30/40years ago. The hotel
Company looks to be milking every last drop from this once great venue and are doing it shamelessly.
Staff are professional, friendly but it’s quite obviously they are well versed and experts in apologising without any real power to do anything to rectify or compensate you for any of the issues.
Plus points are the location as it’s exactly where you would want it to be to explore everything by foot. Other than that, unless they significantly improve the property, I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are much newer, 2/3star properties close by that are much cheaper and much newer.
