The food is the best I've had in Sri Lanka

This is not about the lodge but about hotel.com. I have already told them I was viewing hotels not to book however they charged my CC which I have already deleted from website I did not stay at lodge, the booking was a mistake but the lodge or hotel.com refused to remedy this situation

Falsely advertised as a 3-star property. Did not stay at the property after inspecting the room.

Great value for money. Service was great.

It was a wonderful hotel with nice and wellcoming staff members. The breakfast's terrace is AMAZING. Thank you so much

Proche de la cité sacrée. Personnel ne parlant pas français, mais surtout mal l'anglais, donc très difficile de se faire comprendre. Patron sympathique et parlant anglais mais présent que le soir.

My wife, little son and I stayed for one night at the Rajarata Lodge. The staff was really kind and attentive. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great (especially due to the great view from the breakfast area). However I want to mention, that we also had troubles during the check-in. As mentioned in some other reviews there are problems in the communication between Expedia and the hotel. As we arrived at the hotel no room was available in the beginning (even the room was prepaided). After some discussions we received a room and in the end everything went well for us.

Schönes kleines Haus mit wenigen Zimmern. Zimmer scheinen neu gemacht worden zu sein. Schön eingerichtet. Dusche zwischen Waschbecken und WC ist etwas unpraktisch, aber ok. Die Terrasse ist toll mit Ausblick auf die Reisfelder. Frühstück war sehr gut. Gegen Gebühr haben wir Fahrräder ausborgen können und damit Anuradhapura erkundschaftet. Einziges Manko: Bettwäsche hatte Flecken - das haben wir aber öfter erlebt in Sri Lanka, WLAN sehr schlecht (war aber angeblich nur so, weil Monatsende war ;-))

I would recommend the hotel for the friendly staff and good rooms, however upon checking out they informed me the price I had already paid through Expedia was in Indian rupes instead of Sri Lankan rupee and I had to fork over double the amount of the advertised price- not happy.
