The bedside lamp doubles as a phone charger and has a switch so you don’t have to get up to turn it off. Small thing, but I loved it and slept better than I have in a long time. The sea view room faces Bacuit Bay. It’s close to the port, so it’s a sea view but not quite a beach view. The hotel can arrange motorbike rentals and island hopping tours, though there’s no breakfast included. All things considered, Z Garden was the most comfortable place we stayed during our entire El Nido trip.

"Z Garden is the best value-for-quality place I stayed at in the Philippines in this price range. Everything in the room looked new. There’s no elevator and no breakfast, and my mountain view room was on the third floor, but the hotel staff carried my luggage up without being asked. I’d usually leave in the morning and be out the whole day, but I genuinely looked forward to coming back to that bed at the end of it. The staff handled my island hopping booking completely. The whole thing required no effort from me at all. In the morning I found my guide quickly, and standing at the crowded shore watching everyone else scramble around, I was glad I’d let the hotel sort it."

Z Garden gave my eyes a rest. The room's proportions are just right, with lots of green plants. The bathroom is small, and the sink is outside the bathroom, which surprised me a little at first, but you get used to it. I appreciate the view from the window overlooking the mountains; I don't need to describe it; it speaks for itself. There are a few hooks on the walls that make up for the lack of space, and there's also a nice, large desk. A little tip: put your luggage in the closet so you have more room to move around.
