ลิลิคียอต (lili kyoto)

It was tucked into a little neighborhood and we were able to enjoy small, hidden restaurants and bakeries easily from the location.

Vi hadde ikke mottatt melding med kode til hotellet og rominformasjon på grunn av dårlig nettforbindelse. Vi fikk umiddelbar hjelp via whatsapp på nummeret som var skrevet utenfor hotellet. Enkel og grei innsjekk. Fint rom, likte veldig godt estetikken. Gulvet i hovedrommet var ikke parkett, men et slags teppe som ser ut som parkett. Det var dermed lett å se flekker her som sannsynligvis er vanskelig å vaske bort. Badet og dusjen så veldig rent ut. Badet hadde tregulv som også så rent ut. Vi kunne ta med tøfler, håndklær og diverse fra resepsjonen etter behov. Vi kunne også henge klær i garderobe og bruke kjøleskap på rommet. Aircondition var tilgjengelig i toppen av garderobe, men den blåste rett på sengene, så måtte vær forsiktig med bruken for å ikke bli syke av trekken. Totalt sett veldig fint rom til god pris, og kan gjerne anbefale å bo her!

Very clean, easy check in and out procedures. Nice quiet location

The rooms were small but nice. Definitely a cool kyoto boutique vibe. Amenities were a free for all in boxes up at the front. Overall really clean. The directions to get in could be alittle easier. Like telling the people that the code for the room is for the box that you have to open. We figured it out on our own but 2 other people asked for help because it wasn't directly on the instructions.

The lobby is a little misleading. The place looks so amazing from the outside and the lobby as well. The staff we encountered was very sweet but the rooms were incredibly dirty. The floors and the walls were honestly disgusting. I will upload photos if I could. The floors were carpet meant to look like hard wood and were insanely stained. DO NOT walk in there without some kind of protection for your feet. And the floors had some kind of staining it was so gross. There was also some holes in the wall. Will upload photos if able.

lili kyoto is not a typical hotel. It is small — three units on the ground floor, probably about the same on the floor above (I didn’t take the elevator up to check). It is totally unstaffed; to get in the front door you must obtain a code from the owner/manager. I got mine by having a nice lady in the Kyoto railway station tourist office call the owner/manager, who promptly emailed instructions. The front “lobby” and hallway are unheated. There is no breakfast buffet, no vending machines, none of the usual hotel amenities. That said, it is on a quiet street only three blocks from a subway station and a major intersection with many dining options. Our room was large by Japanese standards and beautiful in its spare design. It had two beds rather than one, and space to spread out a little. The owner/manager was quick to respond to email requests. This is clearly not a place for travelers who like traditional hotels, but it has a charm of its own that to my way of thinking more than compensates for the things it lacks.

Nice and handy, 10 minute walk to Kyoto station. Between Higashiyama Honganji and Nishi Honganji. Close to Karasuma Dori and Gojo Dori for buses and subway. Room was very nice and perfect for one or 2 people. Staff were very welcoming.
