Do not book this hotel under any circumstances. The photos are completely misleading. Our room had a strong musty, mould-like and sewage-like smell. We were moved and upgraded, but the same issue continued. I had throat and lung irritation during the night and we checked out the next morning. This was our honeymoon, and the experience was awful. The rooms felt damp, unhealthy and badly maintained. There appeared to be black mould on the curtains, and when I opened them, residue stained my hands and I had to wash them twice. The toilets were broken in both rooms we were shown. Breakfast was terrible and basically inedible. It tasted like reheated leftovers. At the rooftop bar, we waited around 45 minutes to be served despite several staff standing around, and the prices were around three times higher than normal. After leaving, I read other reviews alleging rat problems at the property, including one claim that a rat crawled on a guest while they slept. Based on what we experienced, sadly, that does not surprise me. The staff were polite, but the property itself is in shocking condition. Avoid, especially if you have asthma, allergies, chest sensitivity, or any concern about mould, hygiene or air quality.

Staff great, location great.

Very great place for a resort style stay. Beautiful rooftop restaurant/pool/views and super reasonably priced. Would recommend. Only complaints that I have were that it’s not very walkable anywhere and you’ll need to grab. I also had issues with the toilet that weren’t addressed properly until the day I left. Overall, I would stay again, but would request to move rooms if something like that happened again.

Not a 5 star resort. Building was very dated and clearly needs a refurb. View ruined by construction sites and the pool looked a bit dirty. Staff were nice but the dining area looked tacky for a 5 star. Miles away from the main area and the dreamland beach was anything but a dream. The car park and surrounding area has turned into decay. For the price it isn’t woeful but there’s definitely better options out there.

Excellent stay at a great value. A welcome drink, hot and cold breakfast buffet, gym, rooftop pool, spa, 5 min walk to the beach? Super friendly and helpful staff. Great massage… Yes please and thank you! I’ll be back.

I paid ($133.00) per night for the a suite and I only was given a regular room. I ask the front desk for an explanation an I was told that since I booked the room thru Expedia, I could only be given a regular room. To be able to book a suite, I would have to book through the hotel directly. The Kalapa hotel is a total scam. I have stayed at the hotel many times, but I will never stay there again.

Great place, with a very good breakfast in a fantastic location, just some stairs to beautiful Dreamland Beach and beautiful big rooms with great bathrooms, if one likes bathtubs:)). And the staff is very friendly and professional and just fabulous.

Great location! Just a few steps down the stairs and you are on one of Bali’s best beaches. Room is huge with bathtub and great view of the golf course. Restaurant has an amazing view !!!

The hotel looks shabby. The hotel room is just old and needs an upgrade.

Previous room - Broken outside sliding door - Broken shower tile - Hole in wall - mouse, Mouse poo and ants coming out - Broken fridge, hole underneath from leaking - Really mouldy smell in room - been having breathing and coughing issues since we have stayed here, and theres mould all throughout the room such as curtains, roof and phone cord - Dirty floors - Stain on the towel - Staff were going to spray something to kill the bugs while we were in the room. Very bad for health. New room - Broken left bed light flashing - Power point not working next to bed on left - Mould on the blind - Bed very uncomfortable as to hard - Stain and Holes in the sheets - Sheet doesn’t even cover mattress properly - Dirty kettle Overall advise - No hand towels - white paintlegs from sitting on chairs at breakfast - Food is bad - more so at dinner meals
