As a local, he shared wonderful recommendations and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. When my friend and I experienced altitude sickness, Darghen arranged a private taxi tour for us so we could explore at our own pace and return to the hostel whenever we needed. This was far more comfortable than joining a standard group tour, and we were very grateful for his help. The breakfast was one of the freshest we have ever had. Much of the produce is harvested directly from the hostel’s own garden using permaculture, a sustainable method of growing food in harmony with nature. Everything was delicious and felt incredibly fresh. We stayed in a private room with our own bathroom, and it was perfect for our needs. The beds were very comfortable, the street was quiet, and the overall value was outstanding. The hostel is within walking distance of the center of Cusco. We enjoyed the walk, but for those who prefer not to walk, tuk-tuks are readily available and cost about 3 soles. There are also convenience stores right next door and a very good restaurant about a 7-minute walk away. If you are looking for a clean, peaceful, affordable place to stay with a caring host who treats you like family, I highly recommend Mama Green Hostel.

The vibe there is amazing worth it all

Was great staff was amazing. Helpful and friendly…. Only issue toilet broken would continuously run. Have to get up take cover off tank and fix it after every single flush.

Great stay at MAMA GREENS. It was a quick one for me, but I was grateful to have a nice, warm, comfortable bed and hot water in the showers.

Very safe and welcoming. Room neat and clean. Fresh salad picked from the garden was delicious.
