I really liked this hotel- it’s an oasis in the middle of the city. The room was a good size, with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet was above average. The hotel itself has a very calm, spa-like vibe.
I particularly liked the location. You’re within walking distance of a number of the shrines and temples, you’re right next to the Gion neighborhood, or you can walk across the river to a big restaurant and shopping district. But you’re not right in those areas, so the hotel and immediate neighborhood feel calm and quiet. You’re also a block or two from multiple train lines.

The hotel was beautiful. Very clean, well kept, and located very conveniently 2 minutes from a subway station. The staff was very helpful. We liked it so much that we cancelled another hotel we had and extended our stay by an additional night.
