An exposed wire on the electrical cord for the in house coffee making machine was not noticed by cleaning staff but we saw it immediately when wanting to make a coffee, but luckily, the whole coffee making machine was quickly replaced by management. The toilet seat was misaligned to almost being broken in the Peacock suite. The bathroom shower leaked at the door with water making both the bathrooms floor mat sodden, and also a potential slip on the wet tiles.

Excellent value for money. Great facilities with a kitchenette and spa bath. Very comfortable bed. Bakery across the road has excellent coffee and croissant.

This is an elegant, well-maintained property. More a furnished apartment than an hotel. The plant is aging but everything needed is supplied. The Manor is conveniently located.

The owners, Wayne and Karen were fantastic. Genuine warn welcome and happy to assist with any matters. Our room was spacious, very cleanand quiet with an excellent ambience. Fantastic location, walking distance to the CBD and easy access to the airport. Great coffee and bakery across the road also. Would recommend staying at the Merivale Manor if you are going to Christchurch.

I will never stay at this hotel. The staff was rude and condescending. Everywhere else in New Zealand was great with friendly, helpful, understanding people who went out of their way to make sure we were treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. EXCEPT HERE. I do not recommend this hotel.
