The location was in a great place. It was within walking distance from the city center. There were several buses 2 blocks away. The room was very small.

Clean room

Two stays, and both times I had to phone for the entry codes - and another guest had the same issue. I think something in the link with the new, amalgamated Hotels/Expedia/etc site is going missing. Other than that, it's a pleasant place to stay. Can be noisy at times - bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. And if you need parking, best book it - there aren't many spaces.

I wasn't sent my access codes, and there is no on-site desk; but when I called the phone number on the door, I got prompt and efficient help. My room was on the cool sie, but the heater they provided remedied that. The mattress was lumpy but manageable. Top up supplies of tea/coffee are easily available. And there is a corner shop almost on the doorstep, and a co-op store 6 minutes walk away. There are 4 parking spaces; it may be possible to request use of a permit for street parking I was mystified by the emphatic ban on alcohol in rooms.

Great stay at Diamond Villa in York—clean, comfortable, and an easy walk to the city centre and York Minster. Friendly hosts, smooth check-in, and convenient on-site parking available for £7.

Small car park on site. Londis shop across the road, Goodfillers and Blooms cafe about 5 minutes walk. 15 minute walk into town.

The room was not clean on arrival. The floor and the toilet windowsills were dirty, and the shower was unclean, with something visibly stuck to it. Overall, the standard of cleanliness was unacceptable. Considering the price of £150, this was extremely poor value for money. My partner and I did not sleep at all due to how uncomfortable the bed was. I eventually had to get up at 4:05am because I was experiencing pain in my back and neck. This stay fell well below expectations, and I would not recommend it.

Room poor. Needs a good clean, bedside lights dim, shower very slow,big step from shower.
