From the moment you step onto the property the staff and ambience takes your breath away. The views are stunning. The service was 11/10. They upgraded our room without us asking as they knew we were celebrating a special occasion. The Chinese restaurant was delicious! My only regret with my booking was choosing to stay one night. If I stayed for two nights…I probably would never want to leave. The only minor inconvenience was that the room doesn’t offer many outlets for personal use. I needed to unplug the humidifier or room scent diffuser to use my Dyson or charge my devices.

The rooms are quite amazing but a little dated. More lighting required; better TV monitor; new washlet with better and easier flush capability. What made our stay frustrating was the lack of food options (bits and bites… e.g. French fries or chicken fingers and our absolute worst experience (given this 5* hotel) was the breakfast service. It is not acceptable to have to wait in line for a table for 15 minutes and then wait again for over 30 minutes for a simple fried egg! The F&B is definitely much lower than 5*

Stunning view of the Sun Moon Lake on our room balcony. The facilities and amenities are a bit out-dated, such as no Bluetooth connectivity for in-room stereo, but are well maintained. The areas outside of the hotel are neglected, particularly the path along the lake, and the pier. Infinity pool and the tea pavilions are superb. All-in-all, a very pleasant stay.

There are lots of sand flies and I was badly beaten. Pls remember to spray insect repellent and keep the balcony doors closed.
