We stayed here for 4 nights, primarily choosing it for its fantastic location. It is within easy walking distance to the Amsterdam train station and served as a perfect starting point for our scheduled countryside tour. Our room was clean and spacious, and we really enjoyed the complimentary mid-afternoon tea and Stroopwafels—a lovely, welcoming touch. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. The check-in process took significantly longer than expected, and the front desk staff lacked a welcoming, customer-focused attitude. Additionally, while the room was immaculate, the towels were pilling and could use an upgrade. Overall, it is a highly convenient place to stay with great perks, though the arrival experience could be smoother.

The room was nice we did not have ice bucket but otherwise all good. Hotel close to everything 20 min walks to central station and restaurants.

Nice clean modern hotel with very nice staff. Food was very good. Only downside was the check in.Arrived at 5pm, 2 hours after we should have been able to have our room but the room wasn’t ready.

I wrote a more detailed review about the Room Mate Hote already. In short, solid hotel, solid rooms, top notch staff and enjoyable all around. If you’re like me, I usually read the negative reviews and question whether the positive ones are for real. Amsterdam is expensive but, as far as i can tell, this place is more spacious and not ridiculously priced or ridiculously tiny. Put a pool in this place and it’d be almost perfect. But, pobodies nerfect. 😉
