We had a wonderful stay

The house is beautiful and I feel going back time. The sunlight is bright in the space. The bathroom is spacious and also full of light. We had a great time. Thank you Camillia for preparing the breakfast as well.

A truly unforgettable experience, everything is exceptional! Accommodation, hospitality, breakfast - especially breakfast, not only delicious but sees you through until at least teatime! Camilla is the best host you will ever come across and her recommendations for whatever you what to do are absolutely on point. The ambience is welcoming, relaxing and sumptuous, highly recommended. Would definitely stay here again.

Never has my review of a property been defined almost entirely by 1 person working at the property. But this review is different. This review is about Camilla… the one-of-a-kind owner and host of this stunning boutique hotel. Camilla’s reputation precedes her. If you don’t believe me, just read a dozen reviews for this property and count how many times guests rave about her. She’s a gem. A true gem and undeniably the best host of anyone I’ve ever come across in my 25 years of traveling the world. The room we booked was huge and luxurious. The attention to detail was impeccable. The bathroom was enormous and cozy. She helped my father and I book a boat tour that she highly recommended and we thoroughly enjoyed. This morning, she prepared a breakfast fit for a king, or a pair of kings in our situation lol There were countless options and although I didn’t have a large enough stomach to try them all, I tried as many as I could and each one was a perfect 10/10. Camilla, YOU are the reason for this review. YOU are the reason soooo many people rave about your gorgeous boutique hotel. And YOU are the reason so many of us will return one day. Thank you for making us feel like family, we adore you.

A beautiful, historic house with unparalleled and beautiful decor... So amazing and wonderful! The hostess (Camilla) was gracious and friendly, and the breakfasts were truly fantastic. We can't wait to visit again!

Beautiful large space with lovely garden and an amazing, interesting host who goes well beyond to offer hospitality.

I recently stayed at The Breitner House, a small establishment known for its exceptional service from the owner. After booking, Camilla, the owner, promptly emailed me to ensure a smooth arrival. This charming house is located in the art and literature district and has a rich history, once being the workplace of two famous Dutch painters in the 19th century. The room was spacious and classically decorated, with a very comfortable bed and a clean, well-maintained bathroom. The highlight of the stay was Camilla's outstanding service, especially her breakfasts. Each morning, she prepared a fresh, surprise menu that was both exceptional in quality and taste. It's worth noting that you shouldn't leave early for a tour without enjoying her breakfast, as good food takes time to cook. Our room was thoroughly cleaned every day, and when time allowed, Camilla shared detailed stories about the house's history. This house is highly recommended, though it may not be suitable for seniors due to the numerous steps and steep stairs.

Amazing, one of a kind property.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Breitner House! It was the highlight of this trip to Amsterdam (which is saying quite a lot). Camilla is a charming hostess! She proudly told us the history of the house, and served a sumptuous, delicious, and beautifully appointed full breakfast. (She thoughtfully accommodated our dietary restrictions.) The suite was “as pictured” with art-filled walls, beautiful fabrics, and interesting accoutrements. Centrally located for connecting to public transportation, the bedroom was quiet with a comfortable bed. The Breitner House deserves it very high rating. We would definitely stay there again!

Camilla was an amazing host! She made us feel right at home and truly works to perfect every detail of the guest experience. Her artistic touch is evident throughout the entire stay. The Isaac Israëls room is breathtaking and had everything we needed. To top it off, Camilla prepares the most delicious, beautiful, and thoughtful breakfasts! Thank you so much, Camilla!
