Villa Samalama Gili Trawangan

Arriving on Gili i was not aware that there was no cars or bikes all push bikes and horse and carts. The villa had a lovely out door living area and private pool. I unfortunately had a fall on the first night of my stay and banged my head which cut my time at the property short. The staff were lovely and really helpful when i had explained i had hurt myself. The male reception guy even came to the fast boat with me and explained to the boat staff i had injured my head. I will be back to stay for more than two nights next time.

Absolutely amazing... Felt like a King... Maria and Yogi were so hospitable and looked after everything... Great food.. beautiful room.. felt like paradise... Thankyou so much...

Lovely villa with great pool and facilities. We were provided with bicycles to explore the island. The only complaints we had were that the staff were rude and not trained well. Ara was lovely and accommodating but she wasn’t there all the time and towards the end she promised us late check out but they were all rushing us out hours earlier and she lost all her friendliness. The staff that cooked and cleaned for us especially Maria had no consideration for our privacy. They didn’t have warm hospitality. Even if we were sitting downstairs they wouldn’t have the courtesy to ask us whether they could go to our rooms. We borrowed a hairdryer but before I could use it one male member of staff barged into our room and took it back without asking. So I couldn’t even use it. One morning after breakfast, instead of cleaning up Maria continued making pancakes for all the staff in our kitchen for another half an hour. My family wanted to relax and enjoy the swimming pool and we were all wondering what she was doing there for ages. When asked she told us she had leftover batter and wanted to cook. We were shocked that she didn’t understand that we wanted to relax at the pool in privacy and she continued to use our kitchen for her personal use. I felt that was appalling and our stay was ruined from then on. No smiles and no warmth. They are not trained well at all. No apologies either when we ask them about why the acted like that. This villa has lots of potential, staff needs training

Villa is nice but in the interior of gili t.. so be prepared to cycle through small roads without lights.. also the staff is not professional .. they promised to cook us dinner and when we arrived the maid had left so we had to cook by ourselves..

This place was AMAZING. It was so good that we didn't want to leave the villa. It was clean, comfortable, relaxing and peaceful. Best stay I've ever had. I will stay here again in the future if I head back to Gili Trawangan. Worth every penny.
