The bathroom had widespread, visible mold, so I’d give the whole experience a 1. That and the bathroom light switch fell out of the wall, leaving exposed wires. The mold could have been easily taken care of with a simple scrub brush and some cleaner with bleach, so I’d chalk it up to lax housekeeping, poor management or a negligent owner—or perhaps all three. Personally, I’d find another place to stay unless future review indicate that the property is up to at least a minimum standard for cleanliness and maintenance.

the room is more spacious than the average hotels，just a few blocks away from the Ueno JR main exit, which helps a lot when you are carrying luggages. the Staffs are very friendly and helpful, they were all amazing! it was definitely a comfortable stay, and we would certainly choose this hotel again.

This is a small quaint hotel. If you're looking for something by American standards then this probably isn't for you. But if you're looking for something simple to rest your head, that's clean, friendly and in an amazing spot then definitely book here.
