The artful design of the common spaces was beautiful and original. The desk staff was always helpful. The room, while clean, was in need of updates. All around a very nice stay.

A nice hotel in a convenient location, a short walk from the Anne Frank house. Nearest tram and metro stops are about 500m. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, with a typical continental hotel range of options. On site dining is a vegan restaurant, can't comment on that as we tried a range of excellent local alternatives during our stay. The room was a deluxe double. Space was at a premium as typical for an Amsterdam hotel, but it was comfortable. My one criticism would be a lack of clothing storage space; we loved our of suitcases for three days due to lack of hanging space and shelving.

This is my second time staying here and have had strong experiences both times. My only complaint was the temperature in the bar and lobby which was hot and stuffy during the heat wave Amsterdam experienced while we were there. My room was very cool, but the common areas were uncomfortable. I understand old buildings and high ceilings but think additional ceiling fans to move some air might be helpful.

Amazing breakfast: an assortment of eggs, meats, wonderful croissants and fixings for yogurt. Central location in a quieter and classy part of Amsterdam worth it. The property in lobby and our first floor garden room had occasional smells of sulphur and my friend from Amsterdam said it's a result of old pipes. Hopefully they will address this for future guests. That was the only reason this isn't a 5-star.
