Room was quite diry

Very good

My room ran out of toilet paper. Bed linens are provided, but you have to make your own bed. Electrical outlet on my bed is broken. The bar is not staffed. It took 10 minutes for an employee to notice me standing in view of them the entire time.

Surprisingly, nice Hostel and quite large. The toilet and shower are in the room as opposed to down the hall. Nice that it is shared with less people, but also adds noise to the room. The room is VERY hot and stuffy and can barely open the window to get fresh air. My mattress has springs poking my body. Hostel has a guest kitchen and towels are provided, even though Expedia does not have them listed as an amenity. So that was a nice surprise. Easy to lose your way in the many hallways. Quiet hours are not enforced.

Do not stay at this hotel! The hotel is in a very shady part of town, with intoxicated men just hanging in and around the hotel. There were no sheets or pillow cases on the bed and the mattress was filthy! The pillow and throw were covered in blood and sweat and there were unknown substances running down the wall. I tried to call the customer service but the phone was answered by a rude man demanding my name and room number, which was so odd! We had no choice to but check out within a hour of checkin in. My children were too scared to sleep in such conditions. Do not stay here!!!

Check in was forever. Machine didn’t work. Police activity. Kid SCREAMING in the hallways at all hours of the night. Rooms set up poorly.

I booked a stay at a&o Hamburg City through Expedia, but my experience was beyond disappointing. From the moment I arrived, multiple issues made it impossible to stay: Hidden Charges: I was forced to pay €10 for clean towels and bedding, which should be standard and was not disclosed during booking. Overbooked & No Bed Available: My assigned room was packed, leaving me without a place to sleep. Filthy Alternative Room: The replacement room was dirty and clearly uninhabitable. No Help from Staff: When I requested a single room, they refused, blaming Expedia for the booking restrictions. Ultimately, I had to cancel my stay entirely because the hostel failed to provide even basic accommodations. Avoid this place if you expect cleanliness, honesty, or decent service. To Expedia: I expect a full refund for this booking, as the property misrepresented its services.

Check in wasn’t good at all. Everyone was encourage to use the self service terminals however I never actually saw anyone successfully check in this way. Took a long time to get a room, went up to it and it hadn’t been cleaned. Went back to reception, given another room, same problem. On the third attempt I actually got a clean/ready one. Hotel needs air conditioning as having windows open is noisy
