Great location - amazing breakfast - welcoming lobby area

Off the beaten path and secluded from noise. Nice break from the hustle and bustle. Would have enjoyed AC as the room was a bit stuffy. They did give us an extra fan which helped. We enjoyed the uniqueness of the property.

Good clean accommodation. Staff very friendly. Breakfasts were a bit too "fancy" for my liking, but staff were willing to just provide toast. My partner missed having a Shaving Mirror in the bathroom, but I understand, from talking to staff that all rooms will be refurbished fairly soon, so this will, hopefully be taken into account.

We loved this boutique hotel that was close to everything but felt private, comfortable, and quirky in all the best ways!

Lovely historic building with nice courtyard garden and quirky sunken seating area. Fabulous breakfast, freshly cooked to order in kitchen right next to dining area. We were positively encouraged to eat more!

I’d taken a while to look for a property for our trip which was a Christmas present for my husband. I liked the idea of an older, characterful place to stay which is why I eventually settled on no31. From the photo’s I believed the hotel and rooms would most likely be Georgian with high ceilings and large windows but unfortunately this wasn’t the case. Our room (no 10) was on what appeared to be a basement level. It had low ceilings, was quite dark and was right next to the main entrance which meant we heard everyone enter and leave at different times of day and night.It did have a large window but a voile curtain covered it in order to maintain some privacy because as mentioned we were right next to the front door. The room was described as a ‘plush double’ but a painted breeze-block wall and exposed plastic conduit didn’t really scream plush. The bed was extremely comfortable though with nice bed linen and the pillow spray on the bedside table was a nice touch. The toiletries in the bathroom were also lovely but unfortunately the shower was not up to scratch. The shower screen wasn’t wide enough and when in use the water constantly ran along the top of the tray onto the floor meaning we had to lay a towel down to soak it up each time we used it. Breakfast was good and the staff serving it were extremely professional. This isn’t a cheap hotel ( I paid over £1000 euros for 3 nights) so I had hoped for something a bit special but unfortunately this wasn’t it.

Great location - near many shops and restaurants. We were on the 4th floor so had some stairs to climb but it was worth it (and they carried our bags up for us). Such a gem. We would definitely love to stay here again. Of course, the breakfast was absolutely brilliant - such a talented chef!

Didn’t like access… too enclosed so first impression was not great surprised as prior reviews gave “superb” but on reflection average however Delia the cook was a wonderful surprise she was friendly & accommodating.. we had to get up early first morning and hadn’t anticipated anything other than a bowl of cereal until she offered us a fuller breakfast which set us up for the day. The food was exceptional both days and the best we’d had at any hotel and I would tolerate the dark and not so great room for Delia’s homemade bread, jam and yoghurt anytime. Disappointed but I guess our lack of exploring further prior to visit and reliance on reviews left us to think we’ll be more astute when searching for somewhere nice to stay next time. Location was further than we’d assumed and despite being made aware of mini marathon at last minute (great for local community) but difficult as taxi driver had to drop us off a good 10minute walk essentially however took us 20minutes because majority of surrounding streets were closed off and a local Garda officer kindly offered to walk us up within distance because otherwise we wouldn’t have been allowed to pass due to restrictions for those not involved in event. Hasn’t put us off what is an amazing city but will certainly stay central next time

The breakfast was the real highlight, but all staff from our arrival to leaving were so helpful and considerate.

Great space in a good area. Very friendly staff that gave me great recommendations on what to do/see, and the best ways to do so. Lovely breakfast as well
