Bra This is fine as an inexpensive option. The staff is helpful and kind, but the walls are paper thin and you will hear conversations in adjacent rooms with such clarity, you may end up feeling bonded with your neighbors. You will be brushing your teeth with them and sharing the communal showers and toilets, so if you like togetherness, this is your place. If, however, you like a mattress more than an inch and a half thick, you may want to consider other options. While sleeping on the floor has its charms, it’s not for everyone.

We stayed in the Japanese Annex room for 3 nights. The room was clean no doubt but it was rather musky so we had to open the windows to air it. The fact that it was next to the outdoor laundry area, even with closed windows, you could hear people chatting while doing their laundry. Amenities were basic as this is afterall a hostel. The saving grace is the superb location which is close to the train station, restaurants and shopping district.

On a quiet street, a laundromat is very close and it is cheap. Close to the Ikebukuro metro station. The room itself is a bit too small for 3 people (3 mattresses) but it's OK.
