Clean and easy

We booked a Suite with Sea View for a one-night stay at a cost of $750, expecting a premium experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Our check-in was delayed by an hour, with our room not being ready until 4:00 pm instead of the advertised 3:00 pm. While the hotel offered complimentary drinks, losing an hour of a one-night stay was disappointing. The biggest let-down was the room itself. We specifically paid more for a Suite with Sea View rather than a cheaper room because we wanted to enjoy the ocean outlook. Instead, the view was largely dominated by neighbouring high-rise buildings, with only a small glimpse of the ocean visible between them. If this is the standard for a Sea View room, we believe that should be made much clearer when booking, as it did not match our expectations for the premium room category. To top it off, the toasted sandwich we ordered through room service arrived heavily burnt. The suite was clean and the staff were polite, but when you’re paying $750 for a single night, you expect the entire experience to reflect that price point. Unfortunately, between the delayed check-in, the disappointing view and the poor room service, we left feeling that the stay did not represent good value for money.

Very very disappointed. We had booked one of the more expensive top floor rooms for our wedding anniversary. We live locally but thought we would make a night of it, check out the hotel, have drinks and a meal on the rooftop etc. I had paid the extra for a late cancellation. My husband is in remission from stage 4 lung cancer (not to be fair they knew that) and very unexpectedly the afternoon we were meant to check in he felt unwell and ended up overnight on ICU. I called the hotel to let them know we weren’t coming and to see if we could get a refund or a change of date or something to help. I was directed to hotels.com because that was who we booked through and they advised the hotel was not prepared to do anything. I was able to provide a medical certificate if needed. It’s a new hotel, it was a wet Tuesday in a no -holiday period - I don’t think they would have been booked out. Any sort of help - say us paying half next time - would have been nice. I appreciate we fell outside of the rules but a little leeway would have been appreciated. We won’t be bothering to book again - there are plenty of places at the coast we can choose instead.

Sadly as a new hotel they are still learning, staff were fabulous, no fault with any of them, the amenities were definitely not to our liking, Glass doors on both shower & toilet was a bit overwhelming for an older couple, there was no privacy, the younger generation might have a bit of fun with it. The rooftop bar, fantastic, but, but there should an area the hotel guests use exclusively, at least till a certain time, as I said it's very new & they will probably improve with time.

The rooms are luxurious,but yet relaxed. The staff are always on the lookout,for there guests. Greeting with polite and well mannered. Once all the kinks are sorted..like any new establishment wow wow. Do yourself a favour and go to the rooftop bar,and indulge in everything. 👏 We will be back.
