The Hyperion was in an excellent location. One can easily walk to old town. Many restaurants and sites close by. The staff were very helpful with all inquires.

Check in took forever as not enough staff and the valet parking was not available despite the sign. The sauna was supposed to be warm until 10pm but was already room temp at 8pm (if ever switched on). Hallways and some parts of the hotel looked tired. Staff was very friendly and forthcoming, though.

It was a great located hotel. As a solo traveler it was safe and easy to get to and from. The staff were also friendly and helpful with any questions I had. I was very impressed with the tram being right outside the hotel too. The room came with a fab view and would definitely be staying there if I visit Basel again!

Waited 15 minutes for check in and no welcome as such ,one chap could not speak English Also came back to our room at 15.30 and the room had not been made up .hence no coffee .was asked what would the most convenient time to make up the room and was confirmed at 18.00 When we came back at 22.00 the room still had not made up,i asked to speak to the manager but was told no one on site This is not to run a hotel
