Staff were very friendly and helpful, however room was not clean, dishwasher was disgusting, centrally controlled air circulation was set to heat which meant room was extremely hot and only way to cool down was to open the windows to a very noisy street with traffic and ambulances running all night. Beds were uncomfortable and room was in generally bad condition and required renovating.

The room was very spacious with a fully functional kitchen. Location was pretty close to the central location of Cologne. It had a cosy common area service tea and coffee all day. Hotel staff were quite helpful and friendly. Great location with efficient public transport service nearby.

There are a lot of reviews online about the 500 euro charge for cooking in the room. They are very clear on check in what you can and can not do. I didn't even bother cooking in my room so it wasn't a problem for me.
There were some minor issues:
1. The shower only had a body wash/shampoo combo and it was empty. I had to get more from the front desk.
2. Hand soap was also empty.
3. Weird bed set up - two twin duvets on a full bed. No top sheet.
4. Beds are not fully wrapped, which, given the previous comment about bedbugs should be done. My bed did not have bugs, but was hard as the floor.
The breakfast is wildly over priced. With several cafes in the area, just go out.

Skvelé Good location, only a 13 min walk to the Markt and touristy areas. Room included a kitchen with appliances and fridge. Hotel does not have AC, only heating - which was easily fixed by opening the windows to let the room cool down. Just felt a bit muggy overnight when we had the windows closed. Nice flooring in the rooms (no carpet yay!). Staff held our luggage free of charge after checkout. Free coffee and tea and water 24/7.
