This suited us, as we needed some last minute, cost-effective accommodation, but I wouldn't stay there again. I expect that this kind of accommodation might be run-down and old and a bit 'creaky' etc - and it was certainly all of those things - but I do expect it to still be clean.
Our experience was that the rooms didn't feel that clean, there was hair left in the bathrooms and an unpleasant smell in the hallways often.
Also a note to future travelers, there's no A/C (we were aware of this, but just pointing it out) and if you leave your windows open for the cool air, the street noise can be very loud throughout the night.
The staff were all helpful and polite.

Casa Loma is a small, European-style hotel in the Lower Haight district. It’s no-frills, but it’s clean, cozy, and the location is perfect for visiting everything San Francisco has to offer. The staff was friendly and helpful. Street parking is a challenge, but there are several larger parking garages nearby. I recommend taking an e-scooter from the hotel to explore the city. They’re fun and a great way to experience San Francisco. I would stay here again. Enjoy!

It was a really nice area to stay. Loved it had microwave and little refrigerator. It’s not a luxurious place, but it definitely works for on budget place to stay while visiting the city.

Staff was helpful, professional with any question I had.
My room, especially bathroom door needed a deep clean.
Lights above bed were disconnected so hard time reading in bed.

This hotel has a very good location, near Haight St. where there's lots of shops and small restaurants, and within walking distance of Golden Gate Park (However, if you have a car, there is next to no parking.) But it is an old hotel and the rooms are small. And some rooms look out onto Fell St, which is noisy. So you have to deal with that. But the staff is very good and accommodating.
Overall, the hotel gets the job done at a fair price. It's not a luxury hotel but you don't pay luxury hotel prices.

Room was very small. No place to even put luggage except on the bed. Water pressure very low for shower making it hard to wash hair. Not what I was expecting at all.

Friendly welcome. Nothing necessarily negative, but a bit outdated. Our window was broken, but the view was amazing. Great central location.
