Our stay was absolutely amazing! The spacious, clean, and refurbished room with a super comfortable bed was just what we needed. The full English breakfast had generous portions, and every meal was delicious. The staff were excellent, chatty, welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic! We loved every minute and can't wait to stay again. Highly recommended! 🤩✨

Staff very helpful in organising meals

The staff were some of the best we have ever met and met our needs perfectly. They ensured we had a room that was suitable and went the extra mile to achieve this so a big thank you. The property is in the process of being updated but this didn't affect our stay except perhaps to see how well it appears to be going and I'm sure when this is finished they will have a hotel to be proud of. They have only owned this hotel for about 6 months and it is obvious they are making huge efforts to update it.

Like being at home friendly staff. Great food, cooked to order. Slept like a log. Well recommended.

I can only review the new part of the hotel, which is where I stayed, but it was great. Brand new room and bathroom. Would return!

I understand that they only took over the property 5 weeks ago. So to be fair you cannot expect everything to be right as they said that they gave a lot of work to do. As we were the only people there and we only paid £100 for the room. We were told that they have updated a couple of the rooms. But we would not be offered one of those rooms. I understand that to a point but surely for the sake of future recommendations putting us in one of those rooms would have been a better business idea for them. The room we had was large but the carpet was stained the wall had damp the bathroom had a shower curtain so long it would trip you. The lady serving the breakfast was lovely. Unfortunately the egg was raw over the top but the rest of the food was good. I do wish them luck with their renovation as it's a lovely old building I expect their under pressure but please make your customers feel welcome and do everything to make it a nice experience as they are the mouth and ears of your success. X

Over all the stay was very good although one of the waitress's manners left much to be desired.Maybe training in politeness would be beneficial for her.

The new owners are certainly making their mark on this property with lots of work going on (did not affect the stay at all). We were in a newly refurbished room which was spacious and beautifully decorated. Will certainly be going back, excellent location, great food and hosts.

On arrival the hotel looked in poor condition. The room decorations are very dated. The room smelt damp and I noticed the central heating was in, which is presume is to try and dry it out. The bathroom was also very dated with mould on the sealer and an old bath mat. Breakfast was disappointing, as I was not asked what I wanted so it was served with black pudding and a hash brown which I did not want. The only cereal was cornflakes with no choice of milk. The fried egg was over cooked. Then I asked did I want toast, to which I replied I would prefer it after the breakfast with a cup of tea. I waited, and waited and eventually left. I would not recommend it or stay again.
