Easy shuttle bus to and from Shimoda train station. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean spacious room. Clean swimming pool and onsen area. Easy access to the beach and 7 Eleven nearby.

It’s in a perfect location literally right across from Shirahama beach!! Beautiful views from the room. The hotel itself is definitely dated. But the room is exactly what we wanted. A traditional Japanese style room. We had to lay out our beds and everything. So that was fun and unique. The onsen and public baths were nice too! Only thing I didn’t like was the sauna was a “private” experience that was like $60-70 extra for 2 hours. Not great. At the end of the day, we basically wanted a classic Japanese room to sleep at night and be a good home base to explore shimoda from. And for that, it was amazing! I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for that. But luxurious, it was not. Overall, we were very happy with our stay!

We really liked the outdoor hot spring, closeness to the Shirahama Beach, and the free shuttle service from and to the Shimoda station. We loved the dinner, too.

While the property looks a bit dated, it is clean and well-maintained. The public onsen bath was good. Staff were courteous and helpful. There are plenty of parking spaces.

Pool was under repair and not useable; we were not aware of that prior to arriving. Was not noted on booking etc. We might have held off travelling to this location or booked at another time when pool was operational had we known

The room was spotless, the staff were so friendly and incredibly helpful. We were late for check in so they kindly laid out our futon for us so we could go straight to bed. Perfect service, thank you!

Perfect location for surfers Pros: beautiful Oceanside view, walk to beach, nice robes in room for guests, great pool, decent breakfast, friendly check in staff, lots of parking, a few onsite stores Cons: our room was very dated, old carpet and dated bathroom fixtures.
