I booked and paid for my room in advance. I booked a Deluxe Double with Balcony and breakfast. When I arrived, they didn't know about my booking. My room was obviously already taken but they were not honest about that. I was put into another room with no balcony and told that 'the price does not include breakfast'. After a couple of email exchanges with me providing proof of my 'confirmed' booking, he agreed to include breakfast (but he did not change my room). My 'balcony' was the shared area on the same floor. That said, he provided a 'mighty' breakfast consisting of a pot of tea / coffee, a whole big plate of fruit, 4 slices of toast, 2 eggs as you like them, and something else that changed every day. I think that he was making up for his mistake. Forgetting all that, the location was OK and not too hilly or far to get to. The room was good. The bed was good. Hot water shower. The shared balcony was good. The only other negative was that the WiFi stopped working for 2 days ... I had a connection but 'no internet' ... I can only assume that he had run out of the data GBs on his plan. That said, you can buy 30GB for 1 month for US$5 on your own Sri Lanka Mobitel mobile plan ... so, in the end, that doesn't really matter much.
