Celodenný výlet na ostrov Robinson Crusoe a lov krabov

A variety of authentic Fijian experience packed into a single day! Villagers were very welcoming with our morning visit, Likuri Island in the afternoon was relaxing, and the Fijians put on a great show in the evening during dinner. Mud Crab catching was different to what was expected, we had the impression that it was supposed to be interactive activity. Other than that, a great experience for the family!

The village was the highlight of the tour. They were in their best to welcone us. Really an eye opener. The lunch was average. Pick up was on time but returning trip was a bit confusing. Overall still a good day trip!

The experience was great. The only problem for us was the transfer from the Jetty to the island, it took longer than expected because it was low tide which was understandable. And maybe, we spent longer in the village than what it was supposed to be. We only paid for the Day Tour so spending longer time in the village means shorter time in the island. But overall, it was great.

I took the day & night tour with hotel transfer. The transfer was quite horrible. The scheduled pick-up time was 8:15AM. Driver was late by 15 minutes, then we had to join a big coach so we had to wait for another 30 minutes on the first van. We just waited and waited. I mean if we had to do all this waiting then might as well push back the hotel pick-up time by 45 minutes right? The day tour was village visit and then arriving an island. The village visit was interesting, and we participated in a Fijian welcome ceremony. The interesting part was getting to know about the village from different perspectives as a villager lady led us and explained to us in very fluent English. However, my observation is - it’s sadly become so commercialised. The villagers were honestly, not particularly friendly. Minimum smiles from the kids and adults in the village, as if they don’t really welcome us tourist visitors. The dance and music performances felt mechanic and forced, I couldn’t see any passion in the villagers’ eyes and moves. At the end the village women brought out a bunch of handicraft souvenirs for us to purchase and I bought two bracelets to support - they were FJD10 each, more expensive than I would have expected for a real village, and I also realised later on that they probably didn’t make these items (e.g. necklaces, bracelets) themselves because they’re exactly the same as those found in any commercial Fijian souvenir stores. Another point I wish to raise is - we did not experience any coconut harvest in action or weaving as mentioned in the tour description. Then we took the boat to the island, where we had a “buffet” lunch with just 10 choices and rather bad food. Then we had (too much) free time. You can go snorkel, kayak, chill. There’s pretty much nothing else to do. It was nice there was a super salty mud crab cooking demo & tasting and a 10-min “nature walk” to see some herbal plants. And you have to purchase drinks at the beach bar (priced like a hotel). Even water was not provided and need to be purchased. After some hours of chilling, the night tour guests arrived, so the night program began. Me and my family loved the night part - the performances were very energetic, the performers really gave their best and they were entertaining, high spirited and genuinely enjoying themselves. The dinner “buffet” was again quite lack of choices and the meat was overcooked. So don’t expect any delicious food then you might be contented. Therefore overall, my suggestion is, definitely go to the night part separately. For the village part, it’s really not that impressive, but if you don’t have another village tour option then this day & night tour package is surely a convenient choice.

It is a beautiful experience of traditional Fijian cultural traditions in a magical island setting. Lunch was ok.

Must see Robinson Crusoe Island. The visit to the rual village is fantastic experience with village chief and villagers. The lovo buffet lunch is good and the return transfer to the Isalnd is well managed.

Lovely tour guide and we got to see the first village in Fiji, experienced kava ceremony, went to the island, snorkelling and crab cooking. Amazing!

Booked on behalf of my parents, they loved every moment of the tour. From the village tour to the mud crab cooking demonstration, to the lovo dinner and fire show!

A really great way to spend a day seeing and doing as much as possible. It would have been nicer to spend more time on the island for those choosing the day trip option, but for those on the day and night trip the balance was perfect. Very well organized and the pickup was on time so be ready!

The show is fabulous and amazing which truly presents the beauty of Fiji. So glad that we have participated in it.
