Sotetsu Fresa Inn Sendai

Everything was great here, staff, transportation, 100's of restaurants around. A staff member was extra helpful securing me an extra day stay because of Shinkansen cancellation. Thank you!

Room is old

It was a little challenging to find the property itself, and it’s a little bit of a walk, especially if you’re pulling a suitcase behind you, from Sendai station, but overall it was a decent stay. The staff were very friendly and made the check in process very easy. The amenities stand was very generous, I was surprised to see face masks in the mix, and some pour over coffees. The only thing is that our double bed room was a little tight, the tables with the chairs were placed in an area too small to accommodate that type of furniture. Regardless the property is clean and the detail the attention was certainly noticed and appreciated.

The room was clean, spacious and neat. We were a family of 4 travelling. So we had a connecting room, which was convenient especially with 2 bathrooms. The staff was nice. However, we turned up to breakfast at 9:20am, being informed we had to buy tickets from reception. By the time we got the tickets and went back up at 9:31am, the breakfast place was closed. Then, we had to go back down to get a refund. I feel both the restaurant staff and reception staff should warn us that it was too late for breakfast and there was NO POINT of buying breakfast tickets for 4 people at 9:20am when the place was closing in 5 mins! otherwise, the location was great.

Overall, the property was perfect. I would consider Sotetsu Fresa Inn Sendai a more upscale Japanese business hotel. Room was clean and modern with a good selection of amenities. It's just a short walk from Sendai Station and conveniently located near many restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, breakfast is not complimentary but there are many breakfast options in the surrounding area. I found a cheap onigiri shop just around the corner from the hotel for just 150 yen each and the portions were generous, better than the ones at the convenience stores. There is also Asaichi Market, which I recommend taking a stroll through.
