Island Inn by OYO Galveston Beach, TX

The room was very dirty. Air conditioning worked good but water was all over the floor. We were in the 2nd floor. The floor was weak where the water from the ac was. Location was the only good thing about this hotel.

Did not look like the pictures walked in the room and immediately checked out. We couldn’t get a refund or the pointless $50 deposit back. Absolutely disgusting and nothing in the room worked, not the fridge, not the toilet, and the bed was clearly dirty. For sure would say to save your money and don’t even attempt to stay here.

Couldn’t understand the person at the desk. Got to the room and front door looked like it had been kicked in before. The room was hot even with the ac on so that wasn’t working. The room smelled, it was dirty, floor was messed up, bed was horrible looking, bathroom was dirty with poo on the walls and cigarette burns even though it was a non smoking room. We refused to stay. Went down to the front desk and they offered another room but found out from the other people the rooms were all the same so we asked for a refund. As were saying why he’s shhhing us. This place is falsely advertised. Looks nothing like the pictures.

Nothing like the pics. Overpriced for a motel running drugs all night. Room not clean, tried to find another hotel near by had no luck. Slept on top of the bed bc I was so grossed out. Don't waste your money. And wifi and TV barely worked at all. Needs ALOT OF WORK.

Very dirty doors didnt lock horribly maintained

I liked how close to the beach it was. Otherwise the room was filthy, air conditioner leaked on the floor. Tile floor was cracked and sunken in in a couple of spots

This place is horrible I would not recommend it at all ......please dont be fooled by the picture trust me its nothing I mean nothing what the picture shows....they have bed bugs ....and only have stairs.....it damn surely not worth the money they asking not even with the " discounted rate " try to explain to expedia and they dont care which is the sad part as a good customer..

Literally the most disgusting motel my parents have ever seen. I booked them for 3 nights, they showed up, walked into the room, and walked right out and went to the front desk and told them it was disgusting. The person at the desk had nothing to say about it. Due to their budget, booking another hotel was not something they could easily just do. They went to Walmart to get sheets/cleaning chemicals. When my mom text me the photos of the place, I about cried. I booked them another hotel immediately, and they went back to this gross one to check out. The person at the desk was hard to understand, but said.. go to booking to get a refund, and he would charge them 1 night for going into the room. Fine. So I messaged expedia, they tried to help, and of course the property would not sign a waiver for it. Sickening to say the least. Beware of this property! The photos are AI or something..because this is NOT how it really looks!!

Very rude and disgusting

My stay at the Island Inn by Oyo in Galveston was an absolute nightmare. The photos online are incredibly misleading; the actual property is entirely run-down and neglected. When we walked into our room, it was faded, the floors were filthy, and there was a strong, overpowering odor of mold. The shower didn't even work, and the bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned before our arrival—there was literally feces left on the toilet seat. It was so disgusting that we actually had to go out and buy our own cleaning supplies just to clean the room ourselves. To make matters worse, the bedsheets felt really dry and weird to lay on, so we had to go buy our own sheets and swap them out just to have a clean place to sleep. The outdoor areas were just as bad. The pool area was a complete biohazard; we witnessed a family allow their child to defecate directly in the swimming pool and then just walk away. When I went straight to the front office to report this, management completely ignored me and did absolutely nothing about it. The owners and staff do not care about basic hygiene, health codes, or customer service. Save your money and your health—stay anywhere else but here."
