Lamai Coconut Beach Resort

I have been a guest at the Coconut Beach Resort in Lamai many times, over the last several years. They are consistently good. The staff are friendly, and the hotel is managed by Mr. Moo who always makes his guests feel welcome. The location on the beach is perfect and near everything that Lamai has to offer.

We loved this place. Right on the beach, quiet but still close to shops and restuarants. We extended our stay by 4 nights. Very relaxing. We stayed in the little bungalow room, you have your own balcony and garden view. They are older but clean, spacious, good value and the garden is lovely. The only downside was that they have 2 large jetski businesses on either side, so its kind of on an industrial scale, about 20 skis, can be intrusive to your quiet beach time as they reel them in and out, maintain them onsite and the operators seem to spend a lot of time "testing" them at full speed. Usually while guests have breakfast. Other than that it is great value, fantastic location. Would book again.

We had beachfront villa which perfect beach view. Villas are basic but comfortable and clean. Bed comfortable. Nice beach in front Had room only....no breakfast included so cant comment. Staff helpful. Resort is close to shops, restaurants.

The breakfast was surprisingly good with lots of options. My original room was on the first floor, it had a horrible smell like sewage. They moved me to a bungalow room which was a lot smaller; and really poor AC. I wasn’t in the room a lot so it wasn’t horrible. The beach wasn’t bad, just not ideal for swimming because of some large waves. The location was the win, I had access to shopping, lots of restaurants and I thought the price to use ride shares and go to other parts of Samui didn’t make the hotel a total flop considering I wanted beach access with calm waters. If you want calm beaches better bet to stay in Chewang Noi or Chewang North.

we liked the location of the place: you are only a 5 Min walk from the Lamai night market and lots of restaurants. we loved the beach access and they have their own loungers: every time we came, we could find a nice spot in the shade. They have a very nice pool, very clean. The breakfast was great and every day some different foods. the Staff was very friendly and helpful - that was really outstanding. We had a room with a sea view - so it was on the top floor but nice in the shade starting at noon, so perfect to enjoy the balcony. They also rent scooters. So what was not so our favorite: we are non-smokers, and as the room is a non-smoking - if you have neighbours they smoke on their balcony and you smell it, nearly every day when we were relaxing at the beach someone started smoking near us and we got the smoke up - which is very annoying (especially since most of them through their cigarette buts in the sand - very inconsiderate). the beach itself has nice soft white sand, but right near us where two jet ski rentals - so when we went in for a swim: you were literally swimming between the jet skis - which takes a bit away from the "beautiful island beach feeling". the town itself is very smelly, if you walk you always smell the sewer, there is a lot of garbage, the river is very dirty and smelly - and even on the nightmarket - you get smoked on everywhere. We went to check out some more remote beaches and have to say even some of them had bottles and garbage.

Staff were nice and helpful, the room was old, mouldy and very dirty - we had to clean ourselves on the first day wasn't gonna touch anything. We had to wipe surfaces, and disinfect the bathroom, lot's of hair on the floor. We stayed 4 nights. The room was spacius but uncomfortable, the bed was ok. Luckily the beach was nice, with sunbeds, water was great for swim in the waves, beach restaurant was pleasant enough.
