Lux Hotel Picpus

I have over thirty years of pleasant experiences with Hotel Lux Picpus. That came to a sudden end with this recent stay. The room we stayed in has a tiny shower so small you can’t bend to touch your toes. While I was showering the shower tray overflowed because the staff left a rubber plug in place that could not be seen. The water flooded the room completely with a centimeter of water over 90% of the floor! A large spider then appeared on my bed likely trying to escape the flood from under the bed! The front desk offered another room with one bed. I accepted that room for my daughter but as it had only one small bed I ended up sleeping with the spider in the flooded room. I informed the front desk that I wanted to talk to the manager to request a €100 refund for the situation and a lost night sleep. He refused to answer my emails. The clerk at the front desk also erroneously charged Paris Occupancy tax for my daughter who is under 18. The hotel next door only charged €109 for the same night. We were stuck with the price and the situation. The current management demonstrates absolutely no courtesy or customer care or concern. I slipped on the wet floor which was dangerous and unsuitable for occupancy. After over 30 years of great memories at this otherwise nice, quaint hotel, the attitude of the current manager prevents me ever visiting again. If you book here check for large spiders and make sure the hidden stopper is out of the tub before showering! DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$!

A small room but expected as it's in an old building. Very warm and comfortable. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Just a lovely hotel overall 😊

The Lux hotel was close to the metro and easy to find. The rooms were comfortable but small. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Lovely hotel. Rooms are Parisien-sized. The bed ( which was king or queen sized ) took up most of the room. The room had AC and heater, a small desk and open closet. Very small shower, and bathroom though. I'm 6.1, 180lbs and could just fit comfortably. Amazing for one person, even if you want to stay in and work for a bit ( good WiFi ). A bit on the small end for a couple, unless the goal is to have a good bed to sleep in in a nice part of town. For my needs 5/5
