The Olivier House Hotel

I went with a friend who is very particular about hotels. She was dubious, but game to get the full French Quarter experience. Her second visit to New Orleans, my third. I love old things, she prefers new. I loved this hotel, with its exposed brick, skinny double doors, beautiful courtyards, sitting rooms, high ceilings, and exposed floors. She could smell mildew and was close to finding another hotel the first night, but by the next day she was getting more used to it. We stayed there three nights. I slept well and I think she did too, not the least of which from exhaustion from travel and walking. It could have been more meticulously cleaned. Some of the areas (i.e., under the stairs in our suite) could have been dusted. The amenities are limited but the small pool was nice to dip into after coming back from walking in the Louisiana heat and humidity! We both agreed everyone was very nice and tried to be helpful. They offered to put us in another room, but as they said, some things just exist with an very old building and exposed brick. It was a bit of a family feel with three lovable resident cats (and I am not a cat person) that roam the lobby building. It was also well located and it was nice to be able to stop in and change clothes before going back out. In short, I would recommend it to anyone who likes history and wants to experience some of the history of the French Quarter, but if you are looking for new, pools, hot tubs and spas, this is likely not your place.

We had a wonderful stay at the Olivier. Unfortunately, we had to leave one day early due to a family emergency. The staff was so kind and accommodating and went above and beyond to help us in our difficult time. I would absolutely come back based on this alone, but the hotel was charming and close to everything. Thank you to John, in particular. 💜

What wonderfully unique historical property. So many cool hidden parts to find. The pool was lovely. Just need to watch your step over the many floor height changes throughout. Loved the unique elevator too. Great staff and loved the kitties. Awesome experience. Hope to come back one day

This hotel was like something out of Gone With The Wind! Absolutely beautiful and so quaint! Everything about it is amazing! The rooms, the staff, the welcome feeling! I will be back!!

Loved that it was in French quarter, staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed could have been better quality but was truly a unique and beautiful experience! Would stay again for sure. AC quality was amazing, room comes with a microwave and fridge which was a great find and the bathroom was beautifully styled.

Me and my girlfriend had a quick 2 night stay in new orleans and this was the perfect place to stay. so close to everything without it being loud and noisy. staff was very friendly and helpful. would stay again. 10/10

This was the most magical place I ever stay!! It was everything I wanted and more . The staff was so amazing , the room was picture perfect and when they gave me the room key it was a real door key not a card and it had a cute skeleton key with it , I love all of the charm .The way it was decorated and the vibe was fantastic . It’s hard to describe the way that hotel made me feel. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much you made the 800 mile drive worth it 😀

The kindest staff and the sweetest helpers (a.k.a the cats). Absolutely loved the location in proximity to all the places we wanted to go in the french quarter!

Beautiful house made into a hotel. Easy walking to Bourbon St and a lot of sites around New Orleans. Room was well kept and everything was perfect. Will 10/10 stay there again.
