1st of all, Very friendly staff and the bed was comfy, but the wall was so thin and you could hear conversations in the hallway crystal clear and constant heavy banging from the heavy doors, so I barely slept all night, which was a shame as I really wanted to like the hotel. The room was so tiny and I felt like I was being punished by being locked in a closet, there was no room for a closet of course as the room itself felt like one, no room for a desk or night stand, so you pretty much walk to the bed and to the bathroom, that’s it!

The room was very small, adequate for one person, would have been tight for two. Base price is reasonable, then taxes and “resort fees”., make it not so much of a good deal.

This hotel is in the right location for me and the price was good. The room was SMALL even for NYC, no hangers and no place for a suitcase. The bed was comfortable. The staff were attentive. Breakfast was nice as was the outdoor patio to eat it on. I’ve been in NYC dozens of times but I was still appalled at the excessive price of a simple cocktail at the rooftop bar (house brand vodka soda shouldn’t be $22) so I recommend avoiding the venue. I’d go back to the hotel.

Staff was very helpful and friendly! Nice room with great views! Location is everything! Definitely going to make this a stay every time I’m visiting NYC! And wait! The rooftop bar…Fantastic staff! Drinks and ambience is definitely a vibe! Great views of Jersey City and The Hudson! I love the Civilian💚

The Civilian is an amazing place to stay. It’s situated right in the heart of the city, I attended a Broadway show and it was a 2 minute walk to the theater. The staff was amazing. The room and hotel was spotless. Housekeeping came at 4:30PM, one day. I’d prefer to have them come earlier. Also, the breakfast bar was pretty limited. Other than that, everything else was EXCELLENT! If definitely stay again and recommend it to others.
