Horizon View Beach Hotel

Very friendly staff and good location.

The stay took place in June and I expected more of a busy vacation ambiance but many of the restaurants along the beach were closed or closed early/opened later. The hours and open statuses shown on Google are criminally fraudulent. The place itself is okay in the sense that it never felt unsafe nor were the staff ever rude or anything--quite the contrary. The building itself is a bit drab and in need of a makeover. Not much is offered to do. The beach is there but it's not connected to the property. There isn't a pool. Loungers aren't offered on the beach from the hotel. Some TV channels don't work. The Dutch hotel is a few doors down and you can feel a stark difference between the two. On Sunday morning almost nothing was open except the church next door. It didn't feel like it was an area catered towards tourists or locals. Need a taxi? Book it advance. Want coffee before you check out? No problem, the church bells will wake you up. Other areas in Sint Maarten felt livelier and this was surrounded by a hodgepodge of shops that sold similar things. Nothing stood out in a positive way.

Centrally located to everything worth doing in Phillipsburg, St Maarten. Highly recommend.

Great location and beautiful beach and ocean view. Somewhat dated but reasonably well maintained. Very convenient for cruise departure.

Enjoyed my stay. Room was clean & front desk staff & maintenance guy were very helpful & friendly.

The location of the hotel is excellent. The hotel is in the downtown with stores, restaurants a public beach. The room was large with a nice seaview. It is an older property and pretty basic. We scheduled a ride to the boat and it was convenient and price was great. The downtown gets busy during the day when the cruise ships arrive but very quiet at night when the boats leave.

This staff was very friendly and kind. It was great for a quick overnight stay.
