Hotel Palais Mailberger Hof

Loved it

Our room was very clean, comfortable and the shower room was large with enough towels, soap etc. The air-conditioning in the room functioned well. The only difficulty we found was that the television was difficult to operate hence my husband missed the World Cup Final. We did mention this to the staff on the day before and they sent someone to navigate the channels - he by chance found the correct one but once switched off, the same channel was then impossible to find! The staff were very helpful when we asked them how to find the different areas/sights. The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to many of the important sites, restaurants, coffee shops and to public transport. We did not book to have the breakfast as we believed it was rather expensive. We preferred to have something in the very many neighborhood coffee shops. Overall, we would definitely recommend the hotel to friends who would want to take a trip to Vienna.

Location. Aircon works! Public areas look a bit tired. Gluten free options at breakfast not great. Staff failed in trying to defrost a gluten free roll.

This hotel was perfectly located just a few minutes from the the Opera House and main Vienna sites. The hotel was newly renovated with stylish appointed bedrooms. We were in Vienna during a heat wave and the air conditioning of the hotel was excellent. The beds were very comfortable and overall a lovely stay.

Great location on a quiet pedestrian street in the city center. The staff was wonderful and went out of their way to assist. Vienna experienced record-breaking heat during my stay, but the air conditioning was GREAT!! Rick Steves would LOVE this place.!!

Breakfast was great! Room refrigerator would have been nice.

This was our best stay in Vienna. It was a great location in the city center of Vienna yet very quite. The AC was the best we have had in Europe. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff was great. We will stay here next time we come to Vienna.

Staff was very helpful

Great central location near museums, opera, and shopping. Friendly and helpful staff. I had a nice, spacious room on the 4th floor overlooking the courtyard, with a seating area. Everything was well-designed and elegant and in good condition. Comfortable bed and good linens, but the pillows were filled with some sort of synthetic fluff rather than feathers (which I prefer). The street is mostly pedestrian (except for cabs), so there was no traffic noise, even with the window open. Very little noise from other rooms. The main negative was the "desk" -- a narrow shelf attached to the wall. The "chair" was a soft stool with no back, far too low for working comfortably on a laptop; I had to heap pillows on it. The lamp provided was decorative and not suitable for working. Also, the makeup mirror in the bathroom wasn't in a good location or adjustable. The elevator is very tiny, with room for just one person and a full-sized suitcase; not a problem, just something to be aware of.

My husband and I had a nice stay at this little hotel. We walked from the train station, and honestly it took us about 30 minutes to get there. Other than that, we have no complaints. We loved the cookies and pastries that set out daily for the guests to enjoy when they returned from daily adventures.
