Hotel Porto Allegro - Near Malecon

I had a great one night stay here. The location is excellent and the breakfast is delicious and the staff is very helpful and nice. Not much of a hot tub, a small coldish pool with 2 jets but for the one night and the price and location it was perfect. Would stay again!!

Nice escape and easy to walk to many shops and beach

Everything was excellent good walking distance to the Puerto Vallarta Malecón y Playa De los Muertos, shopping and all. Nice comfortable hotel.

Staff is excellent- this is not about them. Rooms are pretty low grade in that they really need to be re painted- patches every where. The headboards for the beds don’t match the size of the bed: king size bed with queen size headboard. Could only get lukewarm water in the shower- was never hot. They did prepare breakfast fresh which is great. The photos on Expedia show this place under much better lighting conditions and filters- the upstairs rooftop tub of water- I think only children would be willing to enter. I would bet no one lounges in the chairs and no one used the fiberglass water container. I was not in my room much & it was $90 US a night so yes it was cheap and I did expect cheap -but I don’t think it would take much maintenance to make the rooms MUCH more pleasurable. Again staff were all very kind and pleasurable very sweet staff throughout. If you are American- it is the equivalent of a Motel 6 minus a pool.

Buen hotel muy cerca del malecón, excelente atención y Amabilidad del personal, rico cafe en recepcion , la Habitacion cumple con lo requerido, desayunos muy buenos, lugar tranquilo, para mejorar tal vez diria la velocidad del elevador, pero como el hotel no tiene muchos niveles, usar la escalera no resulta pesado.

Horrible staff for responding for a safety issue. Fire detector kept ringing in the middle of the night due to battery being LOW. Staff said just remove it and we will replace it tomorrow. I said NO! It’s my safety AND LIFE AT STAKE HERE — what if there is fire tonight while I am sleeping? You wan to RISK MY LIFE?!” Staff was annoyed after replacing battery and started slamming doors 🚪 and staring at me looking mad . He just left and slammed the door! SO RUDE!

Breakfast was great.
