Hotel Cavour

The room was clean facing the street The staff was amazing thanks to them and Sergio helping me after my stay Breakfast was good especially the croissant Air conditioning was sufficient and working

Nice hotel but a bit dated

My mom & I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. While the hotel was decently located & in a safe area, that's about as much as we liked about the hotel. This would have sufficed for a simple stay, but what made the experience less than good was the inhospitable staff. The woman who welcomed us our first night did so without much of a smile or warmth. That is fine, some people's expressions are different, I understand that. When we asked her that night if in the morning we might be able to fill out water bottle with staff, she said yes, no problem, & went so far to say the bar will fill it for us. The following morning, when we asked the representative at the front - Marco - where we can fill our bottle as she had said, he acted dumbfounded at first by our request. When we told him what the female representative said, he went on to say no, & to pay for the water. When told again that we were explicitly told by the woman this would be no problem, and described the woman, he went on to say, "I work with many women." He was advised by my mother he was rude, because regardless of what he felt, to tell your guest to go pay for water, contrary to what we were told, in a hospitality industry, is rude and inhospitable. Not to mention, entirely shocking from a "4 star" hotel. Moreover, the tub drainage system is severely lacking, leaving a pool of water collecting while you shower so that you are essentially bathing in filth. I would not recommend or return, this experience was enough.

Great location

We booked a classic suite for a special occasion. The room was extremely rundown and drab looking. Paintwork was chipped. Amenities were poor with one sachet of coffee on some days but not even all. No milk was provided. Again one sachet of flavoured tea. It was not replenished. Breakfast was basic and quite often cold. Constantly told this is what a classic room is like, but the cleanliness of the room was dreadful.

Staff were great! Showers had a big bath tub which was inconvenient but ok. Location was not great for restaurants or shopping 10-15 mins walk to any thing
