Eminence on Bank

Not eminent at all! Pretty grubby and very noisy. Should have suspected with the free ear plugs on the reception desk! Cross this one off the list.

Do not stay here. I didn’t in the end. After arriving at 5:45pm to a hoarded up entry and no reception I called the number on the door to check in. The receptionist advised no one was on site and I would have to pay my bond of $200 by credit card, which would incur a $6 processing fee (!!?!). I told them I would absolutely not pay the fee, and after quite a bit of back and forth they relented, instead saying if there was any damage to the room following inspection at checkout then I would have to pay for it. They needent have worried. Once I gained access to the entry with the key passcode, there was one working lift that is in dire need of repair. The other was out of service. Collected my key from a safe and went to the room. The property has been painted very poorly, missing skirting throughout and is in disrepair. There was a stale and very disagreeable odour in the room, unfinished bed head and broken cabinetry. Filthy carpet and scratched windows that looked like they had never been cleaned. The ceiling is suspended ceiling panels with fluorescent lights you would find in an office, so very garish and noise transfers from everywhere. A nice touch was the K-Mart coat hangers with sizes on them (as in the ones the use to sell the clothes! lol) The bathroom looked clean-ish but I didn’t want to brave it…. I ended up staying with a friend to avoid staying here.

The entrance is terrible due to renovations but my room (502) was excellent, clean, large and well equipped. The linen impressed me most, crispy clean and I suspect of the highest quality. Staff were not sighted but serviced the room well and the location scores a 10 out of 10. I will stay again seeking room 502.

The place is mid renovation, they should not have customers in until they're done. Dodgiest place I have ever stayed in.

I'm not one for leaving ratings but the disparity of 5 stars and actual is alarming. It is undergoing lift changes, but the room itself, poorly put together, stains in vanity, paint chips everywhere, aircon was a window rattler that sucked in cooking smells from kitchens below, and I just froze because it kept reverting to 10 degrees. No robe ok, safe was inoperable with a flat battery. Bed was clean, shower was clean. To be quite honest, worst value for money room in my travel life ever. Hindley Street rocks all night and you hear it. Clean up of street sweeper and blowers start around 4:30 + and you hear that full on too. I think it is undergoing a name change, so be aware.

Staff were polite and helpful. Room and surrounds were appalling. Sections of roof missing. Bathroom smelt awfully of cigarettes. Paint everywhere. TV didn’t work, heater didn’t work. Even on 6th floor with headphones in, it was super loud at night.

The hotel was overall pretty average. Great location in the heart of Adelaide, very short walk to rundle mall, the train station and various tram and bus stops. When we first arrived we couldn't even tell where the place was to be honest. The ground floor lobby was getting renovations along with the second lift. The first lift was very dated and felt very dangerous and even stopped working at peak checkout time on sunday. Which hopefully will be replaced soon. The room was quite spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable and surprisingly couldnt hear the bustling bar life on the street. Staff was helpful enough. Overall average experience. But with renovations taking place i will hope to be back after they are done

There was nothing to like about this property, except the location. The building was disgusting. We received the key to our room and the door was open. There was dirt and hair in the shower, the floor was a mess and there was rubbish, the air conditioner had duct tape stuck to hold it together and it wasn’t sealed properly so there was a gap and no noise proofing to the room. There was bars surrounding that had loud music and they all partied until 6 am. The worst place I have ever stayed. We were also charged en exorbitant amount due to gather round and then they wanted a bond of $200. There was nothing in that room that would warrant that.

Looking at it outside smashed windows, very old looking needing some tlc but wait till you try to sleep toilet ran all night, walls windows are not sound proof can hear the music banging all night from nearby bars and clubs last night went from 10pm to 6am then the street cleaning started would never stay there again
